ABOUT TRISH LAURIE
Hi my name is Trish, I just want to give you an outline of my background in fashion which will hopefully make you feel comfortable when browsing my website.
I am 39 years old, and began my fashion passion at the ripe age of 16. Bored by, the then limited access to individual, one off, unique clothing I started to make my own garments. This began by cutting up my Mums 60's clothing and any fabrics left lying around . I had little to no idea how to sew but I soon taught myself after a lot of wasted fabric and garments.
Being pretty social I was always out and about and people started to comment on and want my creations. This started really the chain of events to follow. I was particularly passionate about vintage clothing. Having traveled in Europe I was able to bid for antique clothing in auction houses and there began my collection.
Many years of toiling in the vintage wares and selling my recreated garments, I decided to try my hand in the modern world of fashion and new clothing.
Living in Asia for 3 years I began to manufacture my designs, then opened a shop in Byron Bay. Soon after I had my first child, Tashi-Louise which limited my design time, as I never wanted to miss a day of her growing, so I became a buyer overseas of European classics which I still sell today. Having a child opened my eyes to a new desire, to see my daughter wearing unique designs that are affordable. This new quest became possible when I met and discovered the Peggy Label. I remember still my heart thumping with excitement as I waltzed into this shop of all things unique and divine. Kaori and I have now been working together for 6 years and are great friends. Kaori's Peggy designs just keep flowing, they are more brilliant with every collection.
I feel as though I have come full circle, back to my initial self quest for individual clothing to my daughters quaint ward robe, and I am hopefully fulfilling other parents happiness as they are able to purchase from these special collections for their children at very affordable prices.
Lounge Tots hosts exclusively the "Peggy" Collection. The entire "Peggy" range is show cased in our Byron Bay retail shop - Lounge - located in the heart of this holiday destination.
Lounge is a modern, spacious, beautifully designed retail shop, where it is a pleasure to browse or purchase the exclusive designer children's clothing label "Peggy".
